Hwang Chi Yeul Joins April Comebacks With Second EP

After ten months, Hwang Chi Yeul returns this April with a new EP!

South Korean singer Hwang Chi Yeul jumps into the comeback train this month with a second extended play, his agency announced.

Almost ten months since the release of his first mini album Be Ordinary, Hwang will return with another mini album, Be Myself, slated to be out on April 24.

Last year, Be Ordinary became the best-selling record by a solo male artist since veteran singer Cho Yong Pil’s 2012 hit Hello. The album sold over 220,000 copies with its title track “A Daily Song”

Hwang debuted in 2007 with a self-titled digital single album and a full-length studio album Five Senses. However, he has remained in anonymity for almost a decade, only gaining fame in 2015 through his stint in Mnet’s I Can See Your Voice.

In 2016, he participated in the fourth season of the Chinese adaptation of I Am A Singer where he placed first on two seasons of the program. His appearance in I Am A Singer led him to be a huge sensation in China and won the title “Man of the Continent”.

With the reversal of his fortune, Hwang is now considered as an all-around Korean celebrity being a singer, show MC, advertising model, and brand ambassador.

At present, he co-hosts Immortal Songs 2 with Shin Dong Yup, Jung Jae Hyung, and Moon Hee Jun. He was also a mentor in KBS’ Idol Rebooting Project: The Unit.
