TODAY’S COMEBACK: IVE Lights Up With “IVE SWITCH”
Girl group IVE announced a triumphant return by swiftly climbing the music charts with their latest track, “HEYA”.
IVE held a comeback live broadcast on the 29th to mark the release of their second EP album, IVE SWITCH. During the event, IVE unveiled an upgraded visual appearance, surprising fans. They then proceeded to unveil and introduce the various tracks featured on their latest album.
While each member expressed their special attachment to the album, Ahn Yu-jin remarked, “In our previous album, we explored various perspectives, but in this one, we aimed to showcase a new side of IVE.” She further explained, “The story of ‘The Tiger Who Loved the Sun’ signifies transformation. We portrayed this fresh genre from IVE’s perspective, so we hope it receives lots of love.”
Subsequently, the members individually introduced each track, sharing anecdotes and insights, adding to the excitement of listening. During the presentation of the title song, “HEYA”, Ga-eul engaged fans with a point choreography challenge, while Liz delighted fans with her adorable take on the challenge.
Following this, IVE unveiled a total of six songs, including double title tracks “Accendio”, “Blue Heart”, “Ice Queen”, “WOW”, and “RESET”. They collectively watched the music video for “HEYA” and provided intriguing commentary about the work.
Concluding the broadcast, IVE conveyed their strong determination for the new album and expressed gratitude and love to their supportive fans.
Shortly after the release of “HEYA”, IVE surged to 3rd place on Bugs’ real-time chart, 10th on Genie’s real-time chart, and 13th on Melon’s TOP 100. Their rankings continued to climb hourly, with ‘Haeha’ rapidly rising to 2nd on Bugs, 6th on Genie, and 7th on Melon as of 9 a.m. on the 30th.
Their double title track, “Accendio”, also made a solid impression on the charts. Immediately after its release, “Accendio” secured 11th and 25th positions on Bugs and Genie’s real-time charts respectively, and 26th on Melon’s TOP 100. As of 9 a.m. on the 30th, “Accendio” maintained its position in the top 25 across all major charts.
Furthermore, IVE’s earlier title tracks, “LOVE DIVE”, “I AM”, and “Baddie”, also made notable appearances on Melon’s TOP 100, showcasing IVE’s enduring musical influence.
With their new album IVE SWITCH, Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo kick off their comeback activities in earnest.
