BLACKPINK Makes History As 1st K-Pop Girl Group To Top UK’s Official Albums Chart With “BORN PINK”
BLACKPINK continues to bag impressive records in the global music scene.
Femme fatale quartet BLACKPINK has earned a new record with their new album BORN PINK.

Proving their global popularity, BLACKPINK made history as they become the first-ever K-pop girl group to achieve the No.1 spot on the United Kingdom’s Official Albums Chart with BORN PINK. Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa took the glorious top spot for the first time. They previously landed in second place with their 2020 release The Album.
Martin Talbot, Chief Executive of the Official Charts Company shared his thoughts about BLACKPINK’s chart-topping success. He said, “Congratulations to BLACKPINK. Being any kind of chart first is a record which can never be taken away, so for their new album BORN PINK to become the first UK Official Number 1 by a K-pop girl group is a fantastic achievement – and puts them in the record books forever!”
In addition, the girl group’s new title track “Shut Down” placed 24th on the Official Singles Chart. Meanwhile, their B-side “Typa Girl” entered the chart at 93rd rank.
