First-Generation Girl Group, Cleo Reforms As Trio To Resume Activities

The girl group Cleo is making a comeback after 17 years.

Cleo recently reformed as a trio, with original member Chae Eun-jeong leading, joined by new members Dini and Goo Do-kyung. They will take their first stage at the New X Music Festival held at the KINTEX Exhibition Hall 2 in Ilsan, Goyang, on December 9th and 10th. Cleo is set to perform on the second day, December 10th.

Debuting in 1999 and disbanding in 2004 after releasing five albums, Cleo made a notable appearance in June 2016 on JTBC’s Sugar Man, where they performed their debut track, “Good Time.”

The New X Music Festival features popular artists from the 90s, and Cleo’s choice of this festival for their trio’s debut stage emphasizes their aim to evoke nostalgia while showcasing the prowess of the first-generation girl group.

According to JGStar, the organizer of the performance, Cleo’s participation in the New X Music Festival aims to revive the sentiments of that era while displaying the power of the first-generation girl group.
