Hoping for The8’s speedy recovery and the rest of SEVENTEEN members to stay healthy and safe!

Pledis Entertainment has announced that SEVENTEEN’s The8 has tested positive for COVID-19.

The agency shared that The8 first tested negative through a self-test kit on March 5. As he experienced a very mild cough, he preemptively took a PCR test and received positive result on March 7. As of now, he is not experiencing any symptoms and is administering self-treatment at home.

According to the agency, all SEVENTEEN members other than S.COUPS, HOSHI, WONWOO, DK, SEUNGKWAN, and VERNON all preemptively took self-test kits on March 6. All of the results came back as negative and they are not exhibiting any symptoms.

“Therefore, it would be difficult for The8 to take part in SEVENTEEN’s activities for a while. We will provide you with updates on his activity resumption,” the agency said.

Reassuring fans about the idol’s health and safety, Pledis Entertainment added, “We will continue to provide support for the rapid recovery of THE 8, placing our highest priority on the health and safety of our artists. We will also continue to fully cooperate with the requests and guidelines of healthcare authorities.”

The8 became the seventh member of SEVENTEEN to be diagnosed with COVID-19. Previously, Wonwoo and Vernon tested positive and completed their recovery. Meanwhile, Hoshi, S.Coups, DK, and Seungkwan are undergoing self-treatment after receiving positive test results as well.
