VIXX’s Ken Wins First Musical Award For His Performance In “Hamlet”

VIXX talented vocalist Ken became the Best Newcomer awardee in the 12th Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF) held on July 9.

VIXX’s Ken, who performed from May to August last year for the musical Hamlet, was acclaimed for his perfect character portrayal, leading to standing ovation at every performance.

“I am glad to be on stage as a musical actor, and honored and pleased to be awarded as the best new artist,” said Ken through his agency, Jellyfish Entertainment.

He expressed appreciation to all the staff and fellow actors who helped him out with his theater play venture.

“I am grateful to the audiences and the precious stars who applauded me with encouragement so that I could grow up as a musical actor. I would like to share this joy with the members of VIXX and fellow members of our agency who are always thinking together with the same heart,” he added.

The idol-actor made his musical debut with Chess in 2015.

He has gained experience in various genres such as Cinderella, The Musical of Flowers, Hamlet, and Titanic.

The VIXX member is soon going to meet the fans through the web drama Tofu Personified which is scheduled to be broadcast this July.
