CONCERT RECAP: Yerin Baek Serenades Fans In Seattle

After a long wait, Yerin Baek finally met with fans in Seattle during her 2022 Yerin Baek North America Tour.

For the first time, Yerin Baek performed a concert in front of an enthusiastic crowd of fans. On December 21, Yerin Baek filled the Neptune Theatre in Seattle with beautiful memories during the final stop of her North America tour. 

Marking her first visit to the city, Yerin delivered an intimate show, performing the majority of her 2020 album, tellusaboutyourself, as well as fan favorites like “Popo (how deep is our love?), “November Song,” and “310.”

Lined up for hours in the blistering cold across from the Neptune Theatre, fans eagerly awaited the talented musician’s appearance on stage. Cheers filled the room as the small band took the stage and continued until the first note of “Lovegame” began. Keeping the momentum going, she smoothly transitioned from “You’re so lonely now, so you need me back by your side,” “Hate you,” “I am not your ocean anymore,” and “Ms. Delicate.”

As expected from the singer-songwriter, Yerin effortlessly warmed the hearts of fans on the cold winter night with her whimsical vocals, relaxed girl-next-door vibe, and relatable lyrics. In place of the customary pauses for speeches, also known as ments, common during K-Pop concerts, Yerin chose to interact with fans through her lyrics, encouraging them to sing along, move to the music, and enjoy the show – which they did. Song after song, fans sang along, creating a sense of togetherness as they watched Yerin perform. She expertly took fans on a journey of her discography from debut until now, with a set list of 24 songs, including four encores.

Meanwhile, Yerin recently released her latest single album, Pisces, earlier this year. The title track, also called “Pisces,” has already amassed over a million streams on Spotify. Her music and lyrics have actively received love across the globe. Specifically, winning Best R&B/Soul for “Square (2017)” at the 2020 Melon Music Awards and Best Pop Album from Every letter I sent you at the 2021 Korea Music Awards.

As Yerin successfully concludes her first North American tour after almost a decade since her debut in 2012, anticipation is high for her next return, whether it’s an album, song, or another concert.
