2019 K-Pop Friendship Concert In Manila Marks Radiant Celebration Of Korean & Filipino Music
The 2019 K-Pop Friendship Concert In Manila also highlighted the special ties between Korea and the Philippines.
Through the rise of K-pop in the country, Filipinos have been embracing the Korean culture more than ever before. There is no denying that the Hallyu craze has fully taken hold of the Filipinos. From Korean cosmetics, Korean dramas and K-Pop music, it’s no surprise that the arena was filled with K-pop fans eager to see their idols live.
To celebrate the bond between the two countries, rising K-Pop artists took the stage for a memorable night for the 2019 K-Pop Friendship Concert in Manila.

Hosted by Ryan Bang and Kring Elenzano-Kim, the night started with a welcome speech from Ambassador Han Dong Man. Ambassador Han impressed the audience by giving his speech in straight Filipino language.
Thereafter, Kim Yong Sam, 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, went onto the stage and addressed the crowd. National Archives of the Philippines Executive Director Victorino Mapa Manalo was next to finalize the evening of speeches.

Later on, the three dignitaries welcomed cute children onstage for the Opening Declaration Ceremony. Together with the audience who held up their smartphones’ flash light, they tossed paper planes which symbolized unity and future stronger friendship between the two countries.

Silent Sanctuary
To kick things off, Filipino band Silent Sanctuary treated their fans to a rousing set of all their hits. Fans inside the arena sang along with gusto as they reminisced with the touching lyrics.

NOIR
The first act to hit the stage was the nine-member band NOIR. Starting off their set with an explosive and energetic dance, fans in the arena screamed their lungs out as the group sang their hit “Airplane Mode”.
After greeting their fans warmly, the group roused the crowd again with another spirited song. Launching into their hits “Gangsta” and “Gift”, fans couldn’t help but sing along with gusto. The group ended their set with their own rendition of the BTS’ hit “Boy In Luv”.

Gorgeous girl group April charmed the fans in the arena with their bright smiles and eye-catching outfits. Their sweet choreography mesmerized the crowd as they sang their hits “Oh! My Mistake”, “April Story”, “Take My Hand” and “Tinkerbell”.

NCT DREAM
Amidst the deafening shrieks in the arena, NCT Dream exploded onstage as they immediately set the stage on fire with “Chewing Gum”. The crowd screamed as loud as they could because the boys were giving their all as they performed onstage.

The crowd went absolutely wild as the boys greeted their fans for the first time. Excitement was written all over the boys’ faces as they were clearly overwhelmed with the love that the fans showered them. In return, the group promised that they will be back.
Immediately after, NCT Dream treated the crowd with “Go”. The crowd went wild with the smooth and sultry vibe of the song.

NCT Dream delivered a sweet song “My First and Last” after. The boys mentioned they were happy because the weather in Manila was really nice. But what’s better for them was the love they felt even if it’s their first visit in the country. The boys promised to come back definitely and were amazed that they have so many fans in the country.

The boys hyped the crowd by chanting “We Go Up” together before launching into their hit song of the same title. The crowd literally sent the arena up with their energy and excitement as the boys danced in unison on stage. Deafening screams filled the arena as the crowd went wild.
