BLACKPINK To Become The Third YG Entertainment Artist To Join Weverse

BLACKPINK will join the fan community, Weverse, becoming YG Entertainment’s third artist on the platform. 

BLACKPINK will now communicate with global fans on the digital community platform, Weverse. Through the platform, the artists will expand their communications and love to BLINKs worldwide. BLACKPINK officially joins Weverse on August 2. 


This is a busy month for BLACKPINK as they approach their fifth anniversary on August 8. The group launched their 4+1 PROJECT in commemoration of the milestone, including various gifts to fans including a new movie. YG entertainment also explained that their emergence on Weverse is part of the festivities, stating, “It is part of BLACKPINK’s 4+1 PROJECT.

BLACKPINK follows fellow YG Entertainment artists including TREASURE and iKON. YG Entertainment previously announced their strategic partnership with HYBE and Weverse, strengthening their business relationship. 

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK continues to meet growing global demand.

Following their debut in August 2016, the group became a worldwide phenomenon with hit tracks including “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “KILL THIS LOVE”. 

Additionally, their first full-length album released last October ranked on various charts including the U.S Billboard 200 and U.K music charts. The project surpassed 1.3 million sales, making history as the first-ever million-seller by a K-Pop girl group based on Hanteo/Gaon Chart. 

The group also illustrates their sizeable fanbase with their SNS followings. BLACKPINK accumulated 29 billion views across their YouTube videos and has more than 63 million subscribers on the platform. Moreover, their Spotify account holds the record for the most followers, boasting 22.8 million listeners. 

BLACKPINK continues to gain massive support and loyalty from BLINKs, which many anticipate to skyrocket even more in the future. Now, the group will continue reaching out to fans across the world through Weverse. They will officially join the platform on August 2.
