It only took a three-second clip for Twitterverse to lose their calm because of Lay Zhang!

EXO’s Lay Zhang in red, accessorized by gold chains, doing body waves, singing “love your persona”, deeply staring straight into everyone’s soul, and smirking proudly as if he knew he’s about to snatch everyone’s wig — all happened in three seconds.

And that three-second video clip from the recently released “Let’s Shut Up And Dance” music video is making its rounds noisily on Twitter.

Since it was posted by Twitter user @laypics_ on February 22, the video has garnered more than 2.9 million views as of February 27, 1 p.m. KST.

The tweet, which simply captioned the now-viral video with “LAY ZHANG” and the fire emoji, has been retweeted more than 9,700 times and liked for over 14,200 times.

Twitter users showered Lay Zhang with admiration and praises. They called him “king”, “god”, “powerful”, “iconic”, among others.

They also applauded him for getting two million views in record time of two days — the attention he deserves. And now, they are looking forward to the video hitting three million views after five days since it was uploaded.

Fans also took the opportunity to get non-fans attention to the singer-songwriter. They also motivated fellow fans to channel the same energy in streaming his songs.

Lay Zhang, NCT 127, and Jason Derulo headlined the first single of the Global Michael Jackson Tribute project. Titled “Let’s Shut Up And Dance”, the song and its music video came out on February 22.

The tribute project will see the release of three more songs this year to complete the planned four-set EP.

The Global Michael Jackson Tribute project aims to honor the King of Pop’s legacy and foster inclusivity and unity in the music industry through his artistry.
