Hwang Chi Yeul To Hold Showcase In Korea For The First Time

Hwang Chi Yeul returns next week with a new EP and showcase!

South Korean singer Hwang Chi Yeul will finally meet local fans in his first ever showcase in his home country.

Hwang, who enjoys a large following in China, has previously held showcases in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan but never organized such an event in South Korea.

But for the release of his second extended play Be Myself, fans of the singer in South Korea will finally get to attend his showcase slated on April 24 at 8 p.m. in Seoul. The event will be held two hours after the release of Be Myself.

Hwang is expected to perform tracks from his new album including its title track “The Only Star”.

Be Myself comes after almost ten months since the release of the singer’s first mini album Be Ordinary in 2017 which has received considerable success by becoming the best-selling record by a solo male artist since veteran singer Cho Yong Pil’s Hello in 2012.

Be Ordinary, which was led by the track “A Daily Song”, sold over 220,000 copies.

Hwang made his debut in 2007 with a self-titled digital album. After being in obscurity for almost a decade since he debut, his career turned 180-degree through his participation in Mnet’s I Can See Your Voice and China’s Hunan satellite TV’s I Am A Singer.

Currently, Hwang co-hosts Immortal Songs 2 with Shin Dong Yup, Jung Jae Hyung, and Moon Hee Jun.
