BTS Creates A First In Hanteo’s 25-Year History With “Love Yourself: Tear”
BTS’ record-breaking feats are never-ending!
South Korean boy group BTS has surpassed one million sales of its third studio album Love Yourself: Tear in only a week since its release.
RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have sold 1,003,524 copies of their newest album, surpassing the record previously set by Love Yourself: Her which was 759,263 copies in its first week.

Moreover, this astounding number of albums sold in the first week of release is a record-breaking and historical achievement for BTS and K-Pop.
The first week sales of Love Yourself: Tear marks the first time an album achieved such feat since the establishment of Hanteo Chart in 1993.
According to the South Korean sales tracker, the achievement of the boy group is very significant for popular music in South Korea.
Additionally, the boy group is now a “Double Million Seller”. Love Yourself: Her is the first album of the group to sell over one million.
Aside from its incredible domestic performance, Love Yourself: Tear was also well-received overseas. It took the top spot of iTunes Chart in 65 countries, while 11 tracks from the album entered the Global Top 200.

With the records set by third studio album of BTS as early as its first week, there is a lot of opportunities for it to reach new milestones in terms of commercial success.
Love Yourself: Tear which is led by “Fake Love” was released on May 18.
RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook performed their newest single at the Billboard Music Awards on May 21.
They held their first domestic performance of “Fake Love” and other tracks from their new album during their comeback show aired via Mnet.
