Hodu&U Entertainment Confirms Lee Sun Kyun’s Death

On the 27th, police and fire authorities discovered Lee Sun Kyun, who was in cardiac arrest, in a car parked near Waryong Park in Jongno-gu, Seoul around 10:30 a.m.

The police first received a 112 report from an acquaintance of Mr. Lee at around 10:12 saying, “He wrote a note like a suicide note and left the house.”

A fire official said, “He was declared dead and was not transported to the hospital (for treatment).”

Regarding this, Lee’s agency, Hodu & U Entertainment, said, “We are sorry to deliver the unfortunate news. Actor Lee Sun-kyun passed away on December 27th,” and announced that the funeral would be held quietly with the bereaved family and colleagues in attendance.

Recently, Lee Sun Kyun was booked on charges of marijuana and psychotropic drugs under the Narcotics Control Act and was investigated by the police a total of three times.

The most recent investigation, around the 20th, lasted 19 hours. At the time, Lee was investigated both as a suspect and as a complainant regarding threats.

Lee who tested negative for drugs in a detailed drug test, expressed his position as “unfair” throughout the investigation and requested a lie detector test the day before his death.

Following the news, the entertainment industry has canceled scheduled events in respect of Lee Sun Kyun’s passing.

Lee Sun Kyun is known for his works including Pasta, Parasite and My Mister.
