ITZY’s Ryujin Tests Positive For COVID-19

Wishing ITZY’s Ryujin a safe and speedy recovery!

JYP Entertainment has made a very important update regarding the current health condition of one of its prized artists, ITZY’s Ryujin.

On the afternoon of February 27, the agency released an official statement, confirming that the young and versatile idol has recently contracted the COVID-19 virus. She is the fourth member of ITZY to test positive following Lia, Yeji, and Chaeryeong, who are all resting at their respective homes as of the moment.

JYP Entertainment revealed that Ryujin took a self-testing kit on the same day and afterwards received a positive result. The artist immediately went to the hospital to get a PCR test for further confirmation about her current condition.

The result also came back as positive, prompting the agency to release another announcement regarding the matter.

Ryujin has already completed three doses of the the COVID-19 vaccine and currently has no other symptom apart from a mild cough. She is also currently self-isolating at home according to the directions of the South Korean disease control authorities and is receiving proper treatment and rest.

As part of preventive measures, ITZY’s live broadcast that had been planned for that day was postponed. Ryujin will also halt her activities and filming for a while so that she can recover quickly.

Assuring fans, JYP Entertainment promised that they will do their best for Ryujin’s treatment and recovery, and will continue to make their artist’s health as their top priority.

Following the sudden news, MIDZYs from all over the world sent their well-wishes and words of comfort to their beloved idol. Her name, together with the hashtag “GetWellSoonRyujin” immediately took over Twitter’s Trending list.

Meanwhile, ITZY will release their first Japanese single “Voltage” in April. They have also been selected as one of the groups included in the strategic partnership between JYP and Republic Records.
