MONSTA X’s Kihyun Releases New Mood Teaser For 1st Mini Album “YOUTH”
Kihyun will once again demonstrate to the world why he is referred to as the god of K-pop in this mini-album!
MONSTA X’s Kihyun raises expectations for his comeback as a soloist with a mood teaser for the 1st mini-album, YOUTH.
On October 3, Starship Entertainment confirmed the main vocalist’s return through a mood teaser posted on its social media accounts. According to the mood teaser poster, Kihyun’s 1st mini-album, YOUTH, will be released on October 24 at 6:00 PM KST. A preview poster for the album is also unveiled, heightening the excitement for its upcoming release.
The teaser image of the “YOUTH” version sees a red chair lying on the grassy lawn. Followed by the “GOODBYE YOUTH” version featuring a deep sea background and numerous books piled up. On the other hand, the “THE 2ND JOURNEY” version has a simpler atmosphere, with three carriers settling against a plain backdrop.
To further build up anticipation for Kihyun’s return, a teaser video with a number of props was also released. It included a mood preview for each version—YOUTH, GOODBYE YOUTH, and THE 2ND JOURNEY. In particular, the “YOUTH” version displays a rather joyful setting with lights, beads, a piano, microphones, and speakers. The “GOODBYE YOUTH” version shows Kihyun’s side profile flying as he flies a paper plane folded from a page of a book after close-ups of rides and archaic TV buttons. “THE 2ND JOURNEY” version shows similar figures from the previously released image teaser, with carriers, roller skates, and compasses.
In addition, the 1st mini-album, YOUTH, contains three versions, each of which explores a different facet of Kihyun’s early years. Kihyun showed his story of traveling to a new world through his single VOYAGER seven years after his debut with MONSTA X in March 2015. This time, Kihyun will embark on his second journey with YOUTH. All eyes are on the majestic vocalist’s second adventure as a traveler, and the mood teasers harking back to our more innocent times.
Meanwhile, Kihyun is expected to demonstrate deeper musical capabilities as he had a successful start as a soloist. He has not only charted with the previous title track, “VOYAGER,” but also the B-sides “COMMA” and “RAIN.”
Specifically, VOYAGER had over 135,000 sales during its period and dominated the Global Weekly Top 10 rankings on Hanteo Chart. The album also landed in second place on the March Weekly Physical Record Chart and the top spot on the March Global Chart during the fourth week.
Kihyun’s 1st mini-album, YOUTH, will be released on various online music sites on October 24 at 6:00 PM KST.
