NewJeans’ “Hype Boy” Exceeds 200 Million Streams On Spotify

NewJeans’ debut song “Hype boy” has surpassed 200 million streams on Spotify, the world’s largest music platform.

According to Spotify on February 5, NewJean’s well-loved track “Hype Boy” has been played a cumulative 201,016,566 times as of February 3. It has been 186 days since the song was released on August 1 last year. With this, the quintet achieved their first 200 million streaming song on Spotify.
NewJeans’ “Hype boy,” which surpassed 100 million streams on the 98th day, slightly shortened the period from 100 million to 200 million streams this time, showing that it is greatly loved by global music fans.
The song showed its undiminished popularity by ranking 89th on the Spotify Global Weekly Top Song chart on February 2. In particular, ”’Hype boy,” along with New Jeans’ other hit songs “OMG” (1st place) and ”’Ditto” (2nd place), is still ranked 3rd in Korea’s Weekly Top Song and has been featured in 14 countries around the world.
Meanwhile, “Ditto.” a song from NewJeans’ new single album OMG, was played more than 100 million times on the 33rd day after it was released, making it the third Spotify song to reach 100 million streams following “Hype boy” and “Attention.” Their latest title track “OMG” is also expected to break through 100 million streams soon with the cumulative number of plays on Spotify currently reaching 89,515,074.
