Yang Hyun Suk Discusses Artists’ Comeback, Solo and Collaboration Plans

The YG Entertainment founder shared things to look forward to with iKON, WINNER and other artists.

In a post written on February 11, Yang Hyun Suk disclosed future activities for most of the agency’s artists. He revealed that B.I. suggested a hip-hop duo album with BOBBY prior to the group’s next music release. He gave the go-ahead so the two are currently working on their music.

“It is possible to release a full-length album if we can have duo tracks and two solo songs. Considering the time to record, shoot the music videos and post-production process, the likely release of their album is in May,” he added. He also said that he is preparing a new track for iKON and it will come out after the album release of B.I and BOBBY.

With regard to WINNER’s new album, Yang Hyun Suk divulged that the members requested to reschedule the album’s release. In an earlier announcement, he stated WINNER will release another LP record. He said that the members have not completed the recording due to their busy schedules as they participated in year-end activities and tours. Moreover, he said the members wanted to add one or two more songs. That being the case, he cancelled the schedule for the music video shoot. He will share more details as soon as the album is ready.

Yang Hyun Suk also revealed plans on WINNER’s solo music. He said that he has been working on Kang Seung Yoon’s solo album for the past year. According to him, he focused on producing music for the group’s album, which slowed the process. He mentioned that MINO is likely to release a new solo album this year, too. Furthermore, WINNER’s new album will feature solo tracks from Lee Seung Hoon and Kim Jinu.

Additionally, Yang Hyun Suk communicated the collaboration between The Black Label producer R.Tee and YGX artist Anda. The song titled “What are you waiting for” will be released on March 6. The track, which R.Tee produced, was initially considered for BLACKPINK. However, R.Tee expressed his desire to release the song under his name before joining the military.

“I will announce news regarding SECHSKIES and Eun Ji Won’s solo album, as well as news about CL, Lee-Hi and Akdong Musician’s Lee Soo Hyun when dates have been finalized,” he concluded.
