On attending the Grammys being a dream come true

“This is a dream come true,” BTS’ leader RM said.

“We never imagined that we could be here. We would always say it’s a dream but we still can’t believe it on this red carpet,” he added.

Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook also expressed their excitement, which could be seen from their eyes and wide smiles.

“It’s the longest red carpet we’ve ever had! It’s the biggest night in music so this means so much to us,” RM also said.

Although they only attended this year as award presenters and nominees for Best Recording Package for the album Love Yourself: Tear with HuskyFox, the hope to perform on stage – and maybe even win an award, just like what Suga wants – is still up for the boys.

“Maybe next year? We don’t know,” RM remarked with a laugh when asked about it.

On teasing about new BTS’ album

RM also teased during the ceremony’s red carpet event that they will be releasing their new album “real soon”.

“Actually, we’ve been working on our music like right before the flight. We stayed up all night in Korea and I think it’s gonna be like – I cannot give you many hints but I think it’s gonna be like a paying off to our fans,” he admitted.

Of course, this isn’t new news for fans – especially after members Jin and Jungkook had earlier announced it to the entire world. However, he also noted that fans could look forward to a little something for their next release.

“There could be a collaboration song and some joint songs … we don’t know, we’re working on it,” he said, playing coy about their album details.

On the other artists they wish to see during the ceremony

Speaking of collaborations, the boys also talked about who they wanted to meet during the ceremony – and maybe even to end up collaborating with.

J-Hope immediately expressed his desire to meet Travis Scott, while RM answered H.E.R. and Lady Gaga. Coincidentally enough, the group presented the award to  H.E.R. for her self-titled album, which won the best R&B album category.

Besides handing H.E.R. her well-deserved award, the group was also able to say a few words on stage.

“Growing up in South Korea, we always dreamed of being on the Grammys stage,” RM told everyone. “Thank you to all our fans for making this dream come true… and we’ll be back,” he promised.

On ARMYs and never-ending love

Just like for every other achievement and milestone they garnered, BTS never forgets who has made all these good things happen – aka their beloved ARMYs. The group sent a shoutout to their fans whom they dedicate this historic feat they lived out to – and of course, they had just the sweetest things to say.

“They made us. They gave us the wings. They gave all the opportunities to us so I’m sure they’ll be proud. They’re with us,” RM said.

“Thank you for all the ARMYs. You made us today. I love you,” Jimin added.

“You made all of this. We’re so proud & so grateful. Thank you,” RM continued, expressing his wholehearted thanks to the entire ARMY community.
