After unexpectedly dropping various teasers for the past two months, the boys drop a teaser that truly takes ARMYs by surprise.

There are only five days left before BTS’ much-awaited comeback, and it is pretty clear the boys have a lot of surprises in store. On April 7, the group unveiled the first teaser for their title track: “Boy With Luv”, a collaboration featuring Halsey.

The teaser features a brief preview of the instrumental, a pop tune reminiscent of retro music, and Jungkook singing “I’m a boy with love”. What takes ARMYs by surprise is not the sound that BTS is showcasing, it is Halsey’s appearance in the teaser. The singer shows up as a ticket seller in a retro-themed cinema, and walks out to see the boys standing outside in pink suits.

The tags #BoyWithLuv and #작은것들을위한시 are currently trending on Twitter. ARMYs have been utilizing these tags to share theories about BTS looking back at their concept for Skool Luv Affair. Using the teaser and the music video for “Boy In Luv”, fans have been citing similarities between the two tracks.

Prior to this teaser, BTS unveiled a comeback trailer featuring RM. True to its theme, persona, the rapper answers the question he has had all his life – “who am I?” – with all honesty. He also drops a few drags on how other people try to answer that question for him, and how mistaken they are.
