Shawols may have to send Minho to the Marine Corps soon, but the SHINee member is not leaving without a gift for his fans.

Less than a week before the song’s release, SM Entertainment offers more details on the first ever solo song of SHINee’s Minho titled “I’m Home”.

The upcoming single, described as an R&B and hip-hop track with a memorable whistling song in its intro, captures the feeling of emptiness and loneliness amid a glamorous yet busy life.

Through the song, the SHINee member will once again display his songwriting skills as he pens the lyrics for the track’s rap parts. The singer-actor has been actively contributing to the rap making of SHINee’s songs since his debut. He helped wrote the raps of “Juliette”, “Up & Down”, “Love Like Oxygen”, “Shine(Medusa I)”, “Good Evening”, “Chemistry”, among others.

Minho also shared his hope to encourage people who feel lonely and worried in their busy lives with “I’m Home”.

“When I am busy and sometimes spend time alone at home, I feel empty. The first time I heard this song, I felt comforted. I want it to be a song that will encourage people who are lonely in their busy everyday life and worried about asking about others’ lives,” he said.

“I’m Home” will be released on various music sites on March 28 as the ninth single of SM Station Season 3 and the SHINee member’s first solo song since his debut in 2008.

Additionally, Minho will hold the encore shows of his The Best CHOI’s MINHO fan meeting tour at Hwajeong Gymnasium of Korea University on March 30.

On April 15, the singer-actor will bid a temporary goodbye to fans as he commences his mandatory military service. He will fulfill his duty as part of the Marine Corps, making him the first SM Entertainment artist to be part of the Marine Corps.
