IU Celebrates 14th Debut Anniversary With A Sincere Donation

IU is truly an individual with a good heart! She recently made a kind donation for the needy just in time for her 14th debut anniversary!

Talented soloist slash actress IU, who is celebrating her 14th year in the industry, continues to share her great blessings to people who are in need.

On September 18, IU’s agency EDAM Entertainment shared on their official Instagram account that the charming artist donated a total of 200 million won (approximately $145,000) under the name IUAENA, which is a combination of IU and UAENA (her official fan club name).

She particularly gave 100 million won (approximately $73,000) to Asan Foundation and 100 million won to Seoul Metropolitan Child Welfare Association.

IU’s donation will be used by these organizations pay for the cancer treatment of women and children with financial difficulties and to help young people preparing for self-independence.

With regards to her thoughtful and heartfelt gesture, IU commented through EDAM Entertainment, “With my UAENA, who has constantly presented big and small miracles for 15 years, I am sharing warmth again this year with a heart full of gratitude. As we confirmed in one place yesterday, I hope that our hearts will come together to bring another small miracle to someone. All the time I spent with UAENA for 15 years has been my golden hour. Thank you and I love you so much.”

Ever since her debut in 2008, IU has consistently been a good influence to many. She made yearly donations to different organizations and showed continued interest in helping those who are in the blind spot of welfare.

In 2020, the artist made use of her influence to donate to those who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. She gave 100 million Korean won each to Good Neighbors and the members of the Korean Medical Association.

Not only that, IU celebrated her 2021 comeback with LILAC with meaningful donations to non-profit organizations such as Linker, which supports single-parent families, and Snail of Love, which helps provide cochlear implants and hearing aids to those in need.

Just recently, she marked her 29th birthday by donating to Snail of Love, the Korean Single Mothers Family Association, Eden I Ville, and the social welfare corporation Chang Inwon.

In related news, IU successfully held her solo concert The Golden Hour on September 17 and 18 at Seoul Olympic Stadium. She became the first Korean female artist to perform on such a large venue.
