BTS Earns New Record As “BE” Achieves No.1 On Billboard 200
What a rewarding week it has been for BTS!
Making history with their every comeback, worldwide phenomenal K-pop boy group BTS has bagged a new record with their mini-album BE.
Just recently, Billboard has announced that the septet’s self-directed album BE successfully scored No.1 on its famous Top 200 albums chart. Remarkably, they are the first group to land two No.1 albums this year, and the second act overall after rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
BTS’ fifth album to hit No.1 on Billboard 200
Overall, BE becomes BTS’ fifth album to be No.1 on the chart following their previous hit albums Love Yourself: Tear, Love Yourself: Answer, Map of the Soul: Persona, and Map of the Soul: 7. The group became the first and only Korean artist to top the Billboard 200 with five albums. It took them around two years and six months to secure the achievement.
In a recent report by Billboard, BE sold a total of 242,000 units during the week ending on November 26. Specifically, the group earned 177,000 traditional album sales, 35,000 track equivalent album units, and 30,000 streaming equivalent album units.
Meanwhile, in related news, BTS snagged their first-ever Grammy Awards nomination earlier this week. Through their record-breaking bop “Dynamite”, the group is vying for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.
