ITZY Marks Glitzy & Gutsy Presence With “Dalla Dalla” Music Video
JYP’s dream team — ITZY takes over the sites with their charismatic and lively music video.
ITZY released its first music video for “Dalla Dalla” on February 11 at 6:00 p.m. KST. Prior to that, the new ambitious girl group kept the audience hyped with their black jacket teaser images and videos.
Previously, JYP announced the members through its various SNS profiles. ITZY is the first girl group to debut from the agency since TWICE’s in 2015.
Descending from an agency which produced great teams like Miss A, Wonder Girls and TWICE, the newest girl group challenges to create another remarkable position on its premiere.
The quintet caught the eyes of many by showing off their five-color charisma and clear visuals in a hot pink background.
“Dalla Dalla” from their debut album IT’z Different is a new fusion groove music, made up of served genre merits such as EDM, house and hip-hop. The lyrics favorably with more English lines and catchy chorus makes us sing along “I love myself, Dalla Dalla”.
Moreover, the lyrics talk effectively on confidence and difference as an individual, as we nod to the rhythm.
The Music Video
With splashes of bright colors and black dominance, the music video as a whole is glamorous. Additionally, the video presents ITZY’s ‘Girl Crush’ charm with member’s colorful styling, chic and charismatic performance.
Clad casual at the start of the video, Yuna, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, Lia and Yeji flatter the viewers as soon as the elevator door opens to reveal the transformation of dazzling divas. The rookies emit the aura of both cuteness and attitude when the track plays along. Mesmerizing effects, fresh sound and upbeat moves fuse to satisfy the eyes and ears of the public.
Captioned in languages including Arabic, Chinese, English, Japanese, Spanish, Hindi and Thai, the girls made sure that their music will be a gift to global followers.
ITZY achieved the bragging rights of being at the top of Korean portal sites search rankings, only by the announcement of the group name and composition of five members before their official debut. Furthermore, it ranked first in Japanese portal site’s real-time search survey, including Billboard’s article on the introduction of the group.
“Dalla Dalla” made a history by surpassing nine million views within 11 hours of release, beating the previous record of IZ*ONE’s debut video. As a result the rookie team became No. 1 in real time charts of major music sites including Genie and Bugs. Placing second in Melon and third on Naver, the single is holding it’s position well as debut music video with impressive views in 24 hours.
Furthermore, the girls managed to gather and make headlines with their vibrant pre-debut appearances in media. Yeji has appeared on SBS The fan and Stray Kids‘ Survival Show EP1. Ryu Jin had stints at in Love Your Highlight Reel, jTBC’s Mixnine of Bulletproof boys and Mnet Sixth. Lia joined JYP Hidden Card and Chaeyeon was associated with various shows.
Banking on the tagline “I don’t care what they say. I am just who I am,” the girls of ITZY aim to deliver a message on celebrating one’s individuality despite what the society says for their debut.
