The former Wanna One member and his legal team had submitted a request for exclusive contract termination versus LM Entertainment at the Seoul District Court.

According to his legal team from Yulchon Law Firm, “LM Entertainment signed a joint enterprise contract which transferred some rights on Daniel’s exclusive contract to a third party. This was done without Daniel’s knowledge and consent, which warrants a breach of contract. Thus, we have filed a contract termination request.”

His legal representatives also revealed that both sides had been undergoing negotiations since February 1, when the proof of content from Daniel’s side was submitted. However, the negotiations failed to produce any outcome and LM Entertainment’s recent rejection of the artist’s offer had eventually led to his legal decision.

“Although the process usually takes around one to two months to arrive at a final decision, if the contract termination request gets approved, Daniel will be able to do his activities freely right away,” it added.
