BTS Scores Another World-Class Fame After Mounting The Top Spot On Billboard 200
BTS upholds unrelenting global success with their latest chart-topping rank on Billboard 200!
BTS’ latest album Map of the Soul: 7 soars high in the Billboard 200 album chart this week. Earning their fourth No. 1 spot in the American music chart, it is indeed another history for BTS and ARMYs to celebrate.
Biggest Week of 2020
Citing data from Nielsen Music/MRC, the pop music magazine addressed BTS’ album Map of the Soul: 7 snags its top spot on the chart with 422,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States at the end week of February.

Furthermore, the album reached a total of 347,000 physical album sales while stream equivalent album (SEA) sales hit 48,000. Incidentally, track equivalent album accumulates to total sales of 26,000 respectively,
The 20-track album Map of the Soul:7 was reportedly streamed for 74.79 million times in the first night after its grandiose release.
BTS’ got the biggest week of 2020 for any release in the United States so far. The new Billboard chart for March 7 will be posted on Tuesday (US time).
A streak of oustanding Billboard records
This momentous victory of the group gaining the top spot on Billboard in less than two years is considered a rare feat even for internationally acknowledged artist.
Notably, the group’s first time atop was with their album in May 2018 Love Yourself: Tear. It was followed by Love Yourself: Answer in September 2018. Thereafter, Map of the Soul: Persona clinched the third streak April last year.
According to Billboard, the only band faster than BTS in generating four No. 1s in the album charts was the iconic group The Beatles.
With their recent album Map of the Soul: 7, it strongly became the 10th non-English album to top the album tally. Since Love Yourself: Tear, BTS continued to grow in first-week sales in the American music scene.
Their album version of Love Yourself: Tear recorded sales of 131,000 equivalent album units in the first week of its release while “Love Yourself: Answer” logged 185,000 equivalent album units.
BTS’ record of first-week sales grew even further with Map of the Soul: Persona to 230,000 equivalent album units before the latest album topped 422,000 units, according to Billboard.
Billboard has not yet disclosed the status of BTS latest title track “ON” in the Hot 100 single chart.
Interestingly, BTS has soared high at the 8th spot on the Hot 100 with “Boy with Luv”, Map of the Soul: Persona’s title track.
Recently, the group appeared at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and performed their title track “On”.
