EXO’s Lay Zhang Becomes First Artist Born In The 90s To Have Three Madame Tussauds Wax Figures

Shanghai first, Beijing second, and now Hong Kong — Lay Zhang is everywhere, we mean, his wax figures.

When EXO’s Lay Zhang said he would keep on winning the race and getting first place, he was not exaggerating. Really, it’s becoming hard to keep up with his race because, every week, he adds another record, achievement, and a piece of history under his name.

His most recent trip to Hong Kong was another testament to the unstoppable rise of the singer-songwriter. On February 28, he led the unveiling of his third wax figure at the Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong.

Lay Zhang is the first artist born in the 90s to have three wax figures in Madame Tussauds. He also becomes the first celebrity with a wax figure at the new Music Zone of the wax museum.

In September 2017, Madame Tussauds in Beijing unveiled his first wax figure, making him the first EXO member and the third artist from SM Entertainment (next to TVXQ and Super Junior’s Siwon) to have a wax figure in the wax museum.

Meanwhile, in October of the same year, the EXO member revealed his second wax figure at the Madame Tussauds in Shanghai.

While the Beijing wax figure is clad in suit, the Shanghai wax figure is dressed as Er Yue Hong, his character in the hit drama The Mystic Nine.

Now, the singer-songwriter has welcomed another member of himself in his growing collection of wax figures — this time, in Hong Kong.

Similar to his Beijing wax figure, the new wax figure is dressed in suit. His hand forms the letter “L”, which according to him, signifies eternal love.

Although the year 2019 is only on the third month, Lay Zhang is already having a jam-packed year. He collaborated with Steve Aoki and A$AP Ferg for performances at a promotional event. He then returned as the Nation’s Producer in the second season of Idol Producer.

The singer-songwriter also took a big step towards his Grammy dream by gracing the award show’s red carpet.

Just recently, he headlined the first Michael Jackson tribute single “Let’s Shut Up and Dance”. His new drama The Golden Eyes also just premiered on Hunan TV and is now available for streaming on Rakuten Viki.

Still, Lay Zhang is showing no signs of slowing down. In a recent event, he hinted on the release of his fourth solo album and plans for a concert.
